Brawlout Hits Switch, Adds Hyper Light Drifter Protagonist

But will it fill the Super Smash void?

Brawlout, the Super Smash Bros.-inspired fighting game, is gearing up for an exciting release on the Nintendo Switch, complete with the addition of the iconic hero from Hyper Light Drifter to its already impressive roster. This move promises to deliver a thrilling handheld experience by the end of 2017, potentially filling a much-needed gap in the Switch’s lineup given the absence of a new Super Smash Bros. title on the horizon.

Initially unveiled at EVO 2016, Brawlout has been making waves in the gaming community, currently available in Early Access on Steam. The announcement of a Switch port, coupled with the inclusion of beloved indie characters like Hyper Light Drifter‘s protagonist, could be just the catalyst needed to draw the passionate Smash community into its fold.

With two additional characters yet to be revealed, fans can only speculate and hope for their favorite indie heroes to join the fray. One such hopeful is Shovel Knight, whose charming retro aesthetic and gameplay style would make for a perfect fit in the Brawlout universe.
