That fortress of serenity and rational order, the Overwatch fanbase, has gone crazy over a potential new hero based on merely a torn poster and a trailer narration.

The upcoming Australia map of the arena-shooter, Junkertown, is a desolate wasteland governed by someone currently known merely as “The Junker Queen”. All visitors must pay tribute to her. The self-proclaimed monarch narrates the trailer for the said map and can be caught a glimpse of on a poster plastered within the map itself.

Naturally, it has been determined by the game’s fanbase that she is absolutely astonishing and is set to join the Overwatch roster. Even more so, she is already amassing a devoted following of adherents, with videos, fan arts, and cosplays emerging everywhere dedicated to this Legion of Doom-like charmer, all adorned with spiked armour and a Mad Max-style haircut.

I, too, won’t deny being slightly curious and somewhat captivated by the mysterious ruler of the barren wasteland. This situation reminds us of Sombra, who had the Overwatch community excited to the extreme for months before they even had a peek at her character design. It will be intriguing to see if we learn more about this regal newcomer in the game’s lore and whether or not we will be wielding her colossal axe in the future.
