When you embark on the thrilling journey of Once Human, one of the initial challenges you’re bound to encounter is figuring out how to repair your rapidly deteriorating Pickaxe. You can indeed repair your trusty motorcycle, along with weapons and armor, and interestingly enough, you can even utilize the Pickaxe as a weapon. But the question remains, can you actually repair it?

Unfortunately, you can’t repair the Pickaxe in Once Human. It’s one of those rather perplexing aspects of the tool, aside from perhaps the fact that it’s called a Pickaxe yet it resembles an axe and can be used for both chopping down trees and mining ore. However, don’t be disheartened! As you unlock the various skills within your Cradle, you’ll learn to craft stronger Pickaxes that don’t degrade as rapidly as your humble beginner one.

What Can You Do with Your Broken Pickaxes in Once Human?

Don’t waste your Pickaxes until they break! Doing so will cause them to vanish from your inventory for good. Instead, make the most of them right up until the breaking point, and then stash them away until you make a trip to town. There, you can sell them for a few handy Energy Links. The sturdier Pickaxes are worth more money.

It’s a rather odd little inconvenience, not being able to repair the Pickaxe even though your base is filled with workbenches. Perhaps the developer, Starry Studio, will decide to make the Pickaxe in Once Human repairable at some point in the future. But for now, they probably have other priorities higher on their list, such as preparing for the upcoming server reset.
