Gamescom has begun with a bang, and right off the bat, a new announcement has struck me like a QAAM firmly locking onto my heart. You bet, I’m referring to the next installment of the Ace Combat series, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, and it’s brimming with the most delightful nonsense that I’ve been desperately longing for.

Bandai Namco’s fresh trailer, available below, is chock-full of philosophical musings, sincere inquiries, and the sort of sci-fi geopolitical absurdity that’s more than enough to send Metal Gear and Gundam enthusiasts into fits of ecstasy.

Lucky Europeans will have the opportunity to explore the game (along with some of its tailor-made PlayStation VR features) on the exhibition floor too. However, it’s going to be an agonizingly long wait until 2018.

All that we require now is an overpriced collection of Tekken or Idolm@ster skins.
