Final Fantasy XV on PC Gets Mod Support

Oh, the places you’ll go

The PC port of Final Fantasy XV is set to become quite extraordinary. You can just sense it because the director, Hajime Tabata, has affirmed that mod support is a top priority. The players are essentially being handed the metaphorical keys to the car for this adventure.

In an interview with Rock, Paper, Shotgun at gamescom, Tabata stated, “I believe one of the most significant aspects that [PC] players can anticipate is mod support. We undoubtedly have the intention to implement it. We haven’t actually completed formulating our comprehensive modding policy or having all the discussions on it, but at present, we truly desire to do so. We’ll have the complete details around autumn time.”

Tabata is unsure whether we can expect mods at the launch or a bit later on, but he did mention that he’d like to incorporate them as promptly as feasible. He also pointed out that he’d like to see them added with minimal restrictions. “I think a large number of people do desire the mods to be as unrestricted as possible and have as few limitations imposed by our side as possible. Therefore, we are going to explore creating such a system for the mods. So, we’ll have to figure out all the technicalities related to that,” he remarked.

It appears that the details are still rather unclear, but the underlying sentiment is what matters: mod support is on its way to Final Fantasy XV on PC. This implies that there’s undoubtedly much more in store for Noctis and his companions than just the routine of slaying colossal creatures.
