Walker Brain in No Man’s Sky is one of the key items needed to craft a Conflict Scanner. For those who aren’t familiar with the Conflict Scanner, it’s a starship technology that can determine the conflict level of a star system on the Galactic Map without having to warp to that system, thus saving players time and resources. Additionally, Walker Brain is also used to build Explosive Drones, which are temporary buffs that enhance a frigate’s combat capabilities by 10 points for the next expedition.

Aside from these two items, a Walker Brain in No Man’s Sky doesn’t have much other use at present. If you’re aiming to create any of these items, here’s how you can obtain a Walker Brain in No Man’s Sky.

As its name implies, the Walker Brain is the computer of a Sentinel Walker that you encounter in No Man’s Sky. To find a Walker Brain, you first need to locate a Sentinel Pillar. You can find Sentinels in star systems where there are planets with high Sentinel activity. There are also certain valuable items that can automatically trigger the arrival of a Sentinel, such as picking up a Gravitino Ball.

Equip yourself well for a battle against the Sentinels, as they will become increasingly challenging as the wanted level rises. Once the wanted level reaches stage five, you can continue to eliminate Sentinels until they stop spawning and the location of a Sentinel Pillar is revealed. The advanced Sentinel Walker you’ll find at the Sentinel Pillar has three health bars, so make sure to aim your attacks at the upper torso, the center, and the legs to deplete these health bars.

The defeated Sentinel Walker will leave behind a container with a Walker Brain that you can collect.

There are also other ways to get a Walker Brain in No Man’s Sky. You can get it from the Mercenaries Guild Envoy, but you’ll need to build a strong reputation with the Guild and also be lucky enough to have the item available for redemption at a Mercenaries Guild Envoy. You might even find a Walker Brain in a Suspicious Packet (Goods) item, but there’s no guarantee. Mission Board and Nexus missions can also have objectives that reward players with a Walker Brain.
