Over the weekend, Square Enix held a Liveletter presentation for Final Fantasy XIV. It displayed numerous upcoming alterations for the game and provided a sneak peek of the colossal 4.1 patch, “The Legend Returns.”

In a surprising turn of events, the CEO of Level-5, Akihiro Hino, made an unexpected appearance. During a casual get-together over drinks, he playfully suggested that the team should bring back the Yo-Kai Watch collaboration event. At first, everyone thought it was just a joke. But to everyone’s astonishment, Square Enix made a sudden decision and brought the event back yesterday. This might have been carefully planned all along, of course. Nevertheless, the fact is – it’s back.

For those of you who haven’t participated yet, the collaboration is essentially an additional questline that enables you to unlock extra minions, weapons, and mounts from the Yo-Kai Watch franchise. Head to the Golden Saucer to obtain the actual titular Watch. Then, equip it and complete FATEs across La Noscea, Black Shroud, and Thanalan to earn medals for minions. By equipping specific minions in certain areas, you can acquire weapon tokens and eventually unlock the Whisper mount.

It’s a bit of a challenging task if you aim to get everything. However, the unlockables are so incredibly charming that it’s well worth the effort.
