The Evil Within 2: Not Just Supernatural!

Sebastian Castellanos is hurtling towards a direct confrontation with a novel kind of adversary. As witnessed in the initial “Evil Within”, he is well accustomed to coping with the grotesque, the supernatural, and the terrifying. The sequel throws him up against something distinct: a still-living serial killer.

Bethesda has released this fresh character trailer that presents Stefano Valentini, a photographer who derives pleasure from capturing his subjects in the brief moments when they come to terms with the imminence of death. He is very much like Sander Cohen from “BioShock” in the egocentric and eccentric manner where the suffering of others constitutes his art.

Here is the description and backstory of Valentini that Bethesda provided along with a press release:

Also similar to Cohen, Valentini will not be the primary target of the protagonist’s aggression. He will be a side attraction, another evil and messed-up entity in a long list of evil and messed-up matters. (For anyone seeking superior examples of the extent of derangement we are dealing with, Bethesda has released some snapshots of the serial killer’s gallery.)

Perhaps I am the sole one contemplating this, but I must express it: This Valentini fellow… he appears to be a genuine jerk!
